Meet Our Team

Vivienne Souter, MD, Principal Investigator
Vivienne Souter is a board-certified Ob/Gyn and Clinical Geneticist. Her interests include genetics and women’s health, quality improvement, predictive modeling, and midwifery care.
She did her residency training in Genetics at the University of Washington and her Ob/Gyn training at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. She obtained her medical degree (MBChB) and postgraduate research degree (MD) from the University of Glasgow. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ and worked in the National Health Service in the UK for more than 10 years before moving to the US.
Vivienne has been a Medical Director in Women’s Health at Natera since 2021 and serves as the Principal Investigator for the Natera Site for the Expand Study.
Emily Becraft, MS, CGC
Emily is a board-certified genetic counselor at Natera where she has counseled thousands of patients and providers on genetic testing, regularly contributes to research and scientific publications, and supervises other board-certified genetic counselors. Prior to starting at Natera, she worked in a clinical setting practicing prenatal and pediatric genetic counseling. She received her BS in Public Health Sciences from University of California, Irvine and her MS in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling from Stanford University.
Emily oversees the Natera Site team of genetic counselors who are responsible for reviewing eligibility, providing study information, participating in the informed consent process and receiving health data from participants.
