DYADS Study

Connect and contribute to the future of prenatal genetic screening

Join the DYADS sample collection study to help develop and validate an investigational non-invasive test that assesses whether an unborn baby may be affected by an inherited genetic condition.

The study will collect blood and/or cheek swab samples and health information from eligible biological female parents and their biological children. Your participation in this study is critical to expanding the future of prenatal genetic screening and helping more families plan for their children’s future.

Who may be eligible to join?

Biological Female Parent

  • You must reside in the United States
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have screened positive as a carrier for one or more inherited genetic conditions
  • You are not currently pregnant
  • You are able and willing to sign informed consent

Biological Child

  • You must reside in the United States
  • For children who are 17 years or younger:
    • You are able and willing to provide assent, when applicable
    • You weigh 10 kg (22 lbs) or higher if a blood sample is collected
  • Adult >18 biological child/children is able and willing to sign informed consent

  1. Call (650) 674-4662 to see if you are eligible, or you may email DYADS@natera.com and a certified genetic counselor from the Natera Site Team will reach out to you to confirm eligibility.
  2. If eligible, we will send you a consent form electronically, and if signed, you will be enrolled in the study.
  3. Relevant health data such as carrier screening results will be collected from you or your healthcare provider.
  4. We will schedule a mobile blood draw at your home or other desired location to collect samples from you and your child. In certain circumstances, there may be an option to collect a cheek swab instead of a blood draw.

Participants who enroll and complete study related procedures will be compensated for their time and effort participating in this study.
